Social Movements Project (2021-2022)
In 2020-2021 we worked with osteopath-musician Emmi Kaasalainen in studying and creating artistic/corporeal methods for understanding prosocial behaviour as a bodily skill. We explored somatic procedures that took as their theoretical point of view the polyvagal theory and an understanding of "social engagement" as a physiological state underlying perception and communication of prosocial behaviour. Another point of view for the exploration was the phenomenon of syncrony/entrainment as a group forming technique. With the mixture of polyvagal theory and group entrainment informed practises we held workshop for different group in Helsinki, Finland creating as testing methods for "social movements".
We also participated to an online publication of Mad House Helsinki with a "gif-essay" called "Group Member". The link is here: https://publication.madhousehelsinki.fi/ryhman-jasenet
